After getting the 3D printer working and posting my first two videos, I began leaning 3D CAD and started printing. First it was just testing if I could. Then, the potential began to dawn on me. The strength of the material, PET-G, was surprising. I was imagining wobbly plastic parts, at least at first. I then just started printing “leg bones” and experimenting with joint types. I am settling on an elliptical rolling contact joint. Still need to figure out a tensioning scheme for the Dyneema “tendons”.
Until next time.
